NAME: Scott McCall
CANON: Teen Wolf
AGE: 18
CANON POINT: Season 6B "Wolves at War"

HISTORY: HERE
PERSONALITY:

Scott McCall is a kind, compassionate eighteen year old. Scott McCall cares for others. He always has. He has a deep compassion for people and for animals. He takes pride in the fact that he can remove a person or an animal's pain. Seeing another being in pain - no matter what that being may be - it's not easy. He helps if he can possibly help. He cheers up in any way he can and if he can't, he actually feels guilty about not being able to.

He takes responsibility seriously - both his family responsibilities and his wolf responsibilities. He lives in a single family home with his mother, a working nurse, so he is able to take care of himself. He's close to his mother - closer now that she knows what he is. She's now a real ally. He's more responsible academically than he used to be. Around season 3, he decides to buckle down. He decides he wanted to be a better person, a better friend, a better son, student, wolf - he wanted to better himself. Now, he studies. He finishes assignments early. He studies for the PSAT's. He takes the SATs. He's punctual if he can be. He doesn't miss clinic hours and he's frequently there without Deaton altogether.

Scott is very selfless. he makes it his job to protect those he loves (and their loved ones) - and generally everyone ever. He sees it as one of his responsibilities. He has to save who he can. He'll look after everyone if he can. He takes in Isaac after Derek kicks him out. He saves Allison from Isaac by running to the other side of the school. He protects Allison from Jackson in the locker room. He tries to protect someone from dying during the big lacrosse game. He protects Allison from himself back when he can't control his wolf impulses. He keeps everyone safe when he can. Even when he's not on good terms with his friends (Stiles) (or, say, Allison) he still worries about them. And he'd save them in a heartbeat. There'd be no hesitation. Deaton goes missing and Scott's on the case immediately.

Because of how much pressure he puts on himself, he used to live with a serious guilt complex. His friends and family wouldn't be in danger if it weren't for him. He says as much when poisoned with wolfsbane at the motel. He and Isaac attempt to stay on Mama McCall watch when he believes the darach's next target includes healers. He still tries to save Jackson - first by tranquing him, then by capturing him. But, his biggest fear is the evil of the moment threatening his mother. This is also shown at the motel and when Gerard blackmails him, threatening her life. He takes on a lot more personal responsibility then anyone should at his age. If he can keep someone out of danger, he does. When he believed Derek "died" he beat himself up for it, mentally not letting his wound heal up. He worries about Danny because he's unknowingly dating a psychotic member of the alpha pack. He bites Liam because he believes there's no alternative and takes great responsibility in having his own beta.

But, over the years, Scott learns that it's not about what happened to him, but about what he can do because of it. There are forces out there, nefarious forces and he has friends and family that can help brace against them. He's graduated literally and figuratively from feeling like the weight of the world is on his shoulders to accepting the weight of the world is on his shoulders if he chooses it to be. Over the course of seasons 3-6, his pack evolves. He loses and gets Stiles back, twice (first from estrangement and the second because Stiles is erased from the timeline altogether). Scott grows.

Though sometimes freaking out inside, Scott is very calm under pressure. He thinks logically and comes to the best conclusion. He explores every avenue he can. He doesn't freeze up. He ensures everyone gets out safely. He's usually the most mature one in the room. He doesn't jump to violence. Right away. If there's no choice, he has no problem fighting. But, he's still human. Killing doesn't bring him pleasure. He tries to avoid that if he can - especially when it's a frenemy he's facing (hello Jackson!). If it's unavoidable or someone is threatening a friend/family - he might kill. But, he does not feel good about it.

And it's that, killing, that causes friction between he and Stiles in Season 5, a misunderstanding with Stiles killing somebody. Scott's always been a very moralistic guy. He feels like he knows what is right and what is wrong. He knows he's not always right, however. He takes the counsel of friends and experts very seriously. And he will protect anyone, be it another pack, his own, or every day citizens. Gerard brainwashes an army of every day citizens and Scott does his best not to actually kill any of them, because they've been misinformed. That said, if Scott needs to, he will return to a villain to learn something. He visits Gerard in the nursing home, he sends Stiles to Peter at the same time to get answers. He turns to Deucalian to help him with the Anuk-Ite, because nobody can look it in the eye.

Because he's a werewolf, Scott has to lie. Often. But, over time, it becomes less like lying and more about his identity. He is a werewolf and he is a hero. What can he do about it. If it comes out, being a werewolf, than so be it. He can't help how someone sees it. But, hunters are now definitely on his radar, and if there are people that do not trust him and his friends because of it? Then he's going to defend them or talk his way out of it.

Scott McCall isn't the most intelligent one in the room. (That feat goes to Lydia Martin.) But, he's not an idiot. He thinks about what he should do. He meticulously decides things. He might not know something off the top of his head but he's a good improviser. But, he knows a lot about animals, animal care and some medical procedures. He can clean and stitch up a wound. He doesn't know everything but what he does know is helpful. The thing is, he's also not street smart, not really. But, over the years, he becomes smarter in his own way and he becomes a full blown leader of his pack and worthy of that title. But, really, to Scott, his pack are equals. Lydia's idea is just as important as his own. He'll consider all options and try to decide on the best course of action.

Because of a ritual where he, Stiles and Allison brought themselves close to death to give power to the nematon and to find out where their kidnapped parents were being held, Scott will forever have a darkness around his heart. He spends a few days in Bardo (Tibetan for limbo), between the living and the dead, but he escapes that as soon as the Nogitsune enters Stiles. It can't be denied, however, that after that ritual, Scott is a darker person. His life gets darker and more dangerous for sure, but, his heart hardens just a bit and he is less sunny.

Melissa McCall, his mother, means everything to him. Barring werewolf drama pre her finding out, he was pretty damn honest with her. Now, moreso than ever, he keeps her in the loop completely. He cares about her well being. He brings her food when she's working. He really looks up to her. He sees her as a healer. He has and always will be proud of her as his mother. He allowed himself to be sacrificed for her. When it comes to his mother, he takes her side, especially when his father comes to down. As for his father, they come to a better place by the end of the series, where Scott finally sees things from his side and the both of them have come a long way. His father also trusts him as a werewolf, too. Originally, they were very estranged and Scott saw him as a deadbeat who walked out. In truth, Rafael McCall had problems with alcohol. But, he returns and more than redeems himself.

It's revealed that Scott McCall is a true alpha. He broke through a ring of mountain ash surrounding Jennifer Blake, the darach. He became an alpha without having to kill another wolf through sheer force of will and strength of character. Along with this, in the final episode of the series, Scott mangles his eyes in order to fight the latest big bad and heals himself through sheer force of will. It's indicated over and over again how special Scott McCall is. How sweet and caring and powerful he can be. Scott doesn't treat himself like someone or something special. He knows what being a true alpha indicates, but he doesn't let it go to his head. He even doubts himself when against the odds, because deep down he still has humanity.

Scott McCall is a compassionate, resourceful future veterinarian. Brave when facing danger and overwhelming odds with overwhelming love and caring for (almost) everyone around him. By the end of the series, it's implied he uses his network of shapeshifters and packs to track down other wayward, homeless shapeshifters and really help them.

CRAU: N/A

SPECIES: Werewolf
APPEARANCE: This face, though.
SKILLS: Honestly, Scott's skills are more about being resourceful and being able to delegate and listen to what others think and believe. He is good at getting people to listen to him, and to see his side. He negotiates and he respects others. Where Derek at one time just bulldozed, Scott lets people make their own choices. But, he still lives by a code and in some cases, he cannot work with certain people after being betrayed or after learning what they've done. To sum up, diplomacy!

Along with that, he became a veterinary assistant early on in high school, so he is gifted medically in basic procedures, tagging, ordering. He runs the clinic completely on some days. It's probably borderline illegal, but this is a television show.

NEW POWER: Persuasion. In Meadowlark, he'll be able to get people to do things for him. Little things at first when he makes physical contact or when he gives direct orders. Eventually evolving into the power of enhanced suggestion.
POWER REASONING: Scott is a very persuasive, encouraging person. And he would be very uncomfortable with this kind of power over someone. It's not his Alpha roar, because it's something that could be used in worse ways. So, he will work to use this responsibility and power wisely, once he realizes it's something he can do.
